A great opportunity to save a life by donating blood is coming to Red Rock Central High School. Red Rock Central’s National Honor Society with 11 members will be hosting their Annual Blood at the high school located at 100 6th Ave E in Lamberton on Wednesday, March 27th from 8:30am to 2pm. According to Advisor for the Red Rock Honor Society, Rachel Karnitz this drive has been going for approximately 20 years with the National Honor Society coordinating for at least half of that time. Karnitz went onto say their goal is to collect 70 units BUT they would love to beat their number of 85 units last year. Community donors should enter the gym doors on the south side of the building. There will be signs directing them to the auditorium.  Karnitz said there are still appointments available. If you want to be a hero and make history in helping the Honor Society beat last year numbers, you can go online to www.redcrossblood.org or you can call 507-540-0561 or 507-227-3293.

“Jail Birds” by Colin Barrow will be presented to the community by PAC at the BARC theater, with performances on April 12th and 13th at 7:30pm and a Matinee at 2pm on Sunday the 14th.  “Jail Birds” according to Stage Scripts, ‘takes place in the communal area of a prison. The female inmates are all of senior age and have all committed crimes to be imprisoned and cared for at the expense of the taxpayer, rather than paying high residential home fees. Now imprisoned, they’re still law breaking by scams, forgeries and producing illegal substances in the prison grounds. The prison staff, are kept on their toes with the luxury style of living the inmates all wish to receive. This comedy play is very tongue-in-cheek and is a farcical send up of the prison system. All of which gives great characters and rib-tickling amusement to the audience. The final minutes of the play deliver unseen surprises for the final curtain.’ Tickets are available now. You can call the BARC office at 507-831-2375 from Noon to 4pm Monday through Friday. If there is no answer, please leave a message and they will get back to you. Tickets are $15 each.
