SBA disaster loans are available for Businesses, Non-Profits, Homeowners and Renters. SBA Loans are different from FEMA and can help fill the gaps if you didn’t get all the help you were seeking. According to Carl Dombek, Public Affairs Specialist from the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience US Small Business Administration,  the Benefits of a disaster loan are that they are low-interest, fixed rate with terms up to 30 years, there are no payments and no interest for 12 months, and there is no need to wait for insurance to settle before applying. These loans can make it affordable to rebuild, repair and replace damaged property. We had Carl in the studio and he gave helpful information on who is eligible and what is all available to those affected during the June Floods. You can listen to his interview by going to KDOM’s website and clicking on POD CASTS. There is also a link on our Facebook Page. There are deadlines but Dombek says if you were affected you really should look into a SBA Loan.  What you need to apply for a disaster loan is a cell phone and contact information for all applicants, Social Security numbers and Employer Identification Numbers (EIN) for all applicants/owners, Financial information. complete copy of the most recent Federal Income Tax Return and Insurance information, if available. Ways to apply include a QR which is available on our website under local headline news, visit sba.gov/disaster, or call 800-659-2955 to locate a Recovery Center for application assistance.  There IS help out there and SBA is a great opportunity for assistance.
