The Mountain Lake Police Department reported 25 calls from June 30th  to July 6th. Officers conducted traffic stops, assisted other agencies with traffic calls and a hit and run. Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute and took a report of a sexual assault. This case remains under investigation. Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 33 calls in the week of June 29th to July 5th. Dog lovers from across the area are invited to celebrate the life of Lisa Holt with wagging tails and community spirit at the Lisa Holt Memorial Dog Walk this Friday. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cottonwood Lake/Tegels Park and welcomes all friendly dogs and their owners to participate in the walk. Organizers encourage participants to bring their leashed, well-behaved dogs and enjoy a morning of remembrance, connection, and fresh air. The event is open to the public, and Free Will Donations will be accepted to honor Lisa’s legacy and support causes close to her heart. Whether you’re walking in memory or simply enjoying the company of furry friends, the Lisa Holt Memorial Dog Walk promises a meaningful and heartwarming way to start the day.

The 31st Annual Worthington International Festival kicks off TONIGHT, bringing three days of global flavor, music, and community celebration to southwest Minnesota. Events begin tonight at the MN West Community & Technical College Fine Arts Theater from 5–9 p.m. and continue Friday, downtown from 5:30–9 p.m. and again on Saturday 11 a.m.–9 p.m. in downtown Worthington. This family-friendly festival features live music, traditional dance, ethnic food, artisan booths, and children’s activities, all honoring the many cultures that make up Worthington’s diverse community.
