Yesterday late afternoon, Steve and I had the opportunity to tour the new addition to Windom Area Health. Let me tell you it is going to be an incredible addition to our community. We climbed to the top of the building and then made our way down floor by floor and got to see first hand all the fantastic changes and opportunities this is going to provide for the area. I feel like I can’t do justice in just one story so I will be taking you all on a tour of the new facility in the next few days. We will go floor by floor. I’m very excited to lay it all out for you. I will have a couple pictures posted on our website and Facebook page just to give you an idea of what we got to witness!

If you would like to see the order of all 50 finalist and where they faired you can find the information on MnDOT’s Name a Snowplow website. The 2024-25 Contest had more than 7,300 submissions with a lot of the names being submitted multiple times by multiple people. Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger said, “Each season we have so much fun selecting new and creative snowplow names, but this contest is also a great way to highlight the hard work of our snowplow drivers and keep them safe,” she went onto say, “Please slow down and give our snowplow drivers plenty of space to clear roads safely every time it snows.” Statewide, MnDOT now has 44 named snowplows, including Plowy McPlowFace, Betty Whiteout, and Taylor Drift. In addition to the 40 named snowplows selected through the annual Name a Snowplow contests, MnDOT staff have also helped to name four additional snowplows statewide in acknowledgement of highways the state plows adjacent to tribal lands.
