School has been in session for a week now and everyone is getting back into the routine of getting to and from school. Now isn’t the time to get comfortable while driving. As a reminder WATCH FOR CHILDREN walking and riding the school bus. Don’t forget to be alert because as we all know kids are in their own little worlds and don’t think about safety. It is up to us to keep them safe! If you are in front or behind a school bus and see the Yellow or Red Lights flashing or the Stop Arm is extended you MUST STOP! If you don’t stop you could find yourself being issued a Stop Violation. Give the bus space. Children don’t think to stop and look they will jet off the bus and towards their home or destination without a second thought. 10 feet around the school bus is said to be the most dangerous for children.

Remember to never pass a school bus from behind if it is stopped to load or unload children. Be the responsible driver and watch for children. NOTHING is more important than a safe journey. Put your phones down and pay attention ESPECIALLY since days are getting longer and darker sooner!
