Minnesota State Patrol reported on the 26th at 5:40 am, a 2019 Freightliner Semi was eastbound on I-90 near milepost 53 in Ewington Township in Jackson County when it lost control and went into the median. A 49-year-old male from Kasson was transported to the Worthington Hospital with what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was wearing a seat belt and road conditions were snow and ice. The assisting agency was Jackson Fire Department. Then at 7am the snow and ice claimed another Semi. A 2016 Freightliner Semi was Westbound on I-90 at milepost 56 in Ewington Township in Jackson County when it entered the ditch. The driver a 38-year-old male, unknown city, was transported to Worthington Hospital with what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was wearing a seatbelt.

Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 19th at approximately 2:56pm deputies assisted Watonwan County with traffic control for a grass fire. On the 20th at 6:27pm deputies handled a concern for welfare in Jeffers on a 43-year-old female. Contact was made and no services were needed. On the 21st at 4:35pm a deputy assisted the State Patrol with a single vehicle accident on Highway 71 south into Jackson County. A 20-year-old male of Heron Lake appeared to have fallen asleep, no medical attention was required. On the 22nd at approximately 6:39am a 22-year-old male driver from Comfrey was south bound on County Road 8 when two horses came out on the roadway. The horses caused damage to the right side of his vehicle and one horse was injured. Also, on the 22nd at approximately 11:54am a 39-year-old male from Mountain Lake reported that two dogs killed his goat located on Midway Road in Mountain Lake. The owner of the dogs, a 36-year-old male from Mountain Lake was contacted and plans to get rid of the dogs. On the 23rd at 10:17pm a deputy assisted Minnesota State Patrol with traffic control for a two-vehicle accident on Highway 60 just east of County Road 1.

Mountain Lake Police Department reported 8 calls in the week of March 18th to the 23rd. Officers assisted the Minnesota State Patrol with an accident on Highway 60 near County Road 1 and attempted on two separate calls to locate the wrong way driver on Hwy 60. One vehicle was unable to locate, and the other one was located but had self-corrected the officer gave a verbal warning. Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and a possible warrant. The driver was issued a verbal warning, for speed, after the warrant was verified to not match the driver or owner. Officers assisted Ambulance with a medical call. Officers

investigated a concern of possible animal neglect. After investigation the animal was confirmed to be cared for. Mt Lake Police Department K-9 Unit assisted the Windom Police Department and the Windom High School with a luggage check for a high school band trip. Officers conducted a Concern for Welfare check, in which everything turned out ok.

  • Lighting
