Windom City Council met on the 17th. The Council received a design update for the Liquor Store. At this time plans are to expand the existing store by building a storage warehouse on the south side of the original building. The plan would increase shelving space by 40% and increase cooler space by 74%. The cost is estimated at $600-$700,000. More information will be presented at the March meeting to hopefully set a possible vote whether to move forward or not with the expansion and update to the original building. The Council set the 2023 Seasonal, part time and lifeguard wages scales for 2023 to reflect the new minimum wage increase. The Council approved Mayor Jones’ 2023 Appointments and Reappointments to boards and commsissions which are

Joanie Halvorson to the HRA Board

Josh Peterson, Dirk Abraham and Jayesun Sherman to the Telecom Commission and

Pamela Hogan to the Park and Rec Board.

According to Councilwoman Jenny Quade, at the Southwest Regional Development Commission two weeks ago she had heard that Rock County Commissioners had lifted the THC moratorium in their County. The Council agreed to watch to see how things progress there.
