Windom Police Department reported a disorderly conduct on the 24th at approximately 10:30am. An officer was dispatched to the ALC School for two students that were in a physical fight that had been separated by staff. The incident involves a 17-year-old male juvenile and an 18-year-old male adult for possible charges of Disorderly conduct. The matter is under review by the County Attorney’s Office. Also on the 24th at approximately 11:48pm an officer took a report from Auto Value in the 700 block of 2nd Ave. It was reported that a back license plate was taken off of their 2007 Chevy Impala sometime possibly this past weekend. At approximately 2pm an officer arrived on scene at Windom Towing for a theft report. The owner, stated that some tools had been taken from an unlocked tool box of one of their service trucks sometime between 10/17 and 10/19 at an unknown time. Taken was a Chicago Pneumatic Air Impact Wrench, A Northern Tool Yellow Jacket 20-ton Air/Hydraulic SuperDuty Bottle Jack and a Pittsburgh Automotive Aluminum Racing Floor Jack. Total loss was approximately $1,372.24. Also on the 24th at approximately 10:20 pm a 2013 FMC Sierra was driving Eastbound in the Toro Parking lot. The driver stated that they were blinded by another cars headlights when the driver heard a thud noise and then yelling. They then saw the pedestrian sitting on the ground on the drivers side of the vehicle. The driver was told to move her vehicle and leave it parked. The Pedestrian was transported to the Windom Hospital by an employee who had called the Police. There was no apparent damage to the Sierra.

Landlords, Farmers, Agri-Business Professionals should make plans to attend the informative meeting being held in Slayton November 15th at 1:30 PM at the Murray County Fairgrounds 4-H Building located at 3048 S. Broadway Ave., Slayton. This free meeting is being provided by the University of Minnesota Extension. Farmland rental rates are the largest input cost a farmer has. Determining a fair farm rent agreement is always challenging.

Negotiating a fair rental agreement that satisfies the land owner and the farmer is a challenge. David Bau and Nathan Hulinsky, Extension Educators in Ag Business Management, will provide several ways; by examples, factsheets and worksheets to determine a fair farmland rental rate for both parties. Make plans to attend there is No Pre-registration required. Attendees will receive several informative worksheets and factsheets that will help to determine what is a fair 2023 farmland rental rate.
