The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office put out the following News Release regarding a fatal crash on June 27th at 7:19pm at the intersection of County State Access Highway 7 and 400th Street. According to the release, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Access Highway 7 near Belview. The driver accelerated away from the deputies and a brief pursuit ensued. After approximately 3 miles, the vehicle lost control and rolled over near the intersection of Highway 7 and 400th Street. The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Deputies immediately administered medical aid to the driver, however he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle and has been identified as 64-year-old Francis Albert Rohlik of Redwood Falls. Assisting agencies included the MN State Patrol, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Department, Belview Fire Department, Belview First Responders, MN DNR, CentraCare Ambulance and North Memorial AirCare. The MN State Patrol is investigating the crash.

Windom Police Department reported 113 calls in the week of June 21st to June 27th. Officers had 19 Directed Patrols, 4 Animal Related Calls, 2 Concerns for Welfare, 1 Drug Complaint, 3 Motor Assists and 2 Parking Violations. Windom Police Officers investigated 2 Frauds, 1 Suspicious Activity, 1 Suspicious Person, 2 Suspicious Vehicles, 3 Alarms, 4 Driving Complaints, 1 Vandalism and 3 Thefts. Officers responded to , 2 Civil Disputes, 1 Disturbance,1 Indecent Exposure and conducted 35 Traffic Stops. Looking for something fun to wrap up the summer?
