Windom Residents: Please be aware of another gas leak related to construction near the intersection of 9th Street and 1st Avenue.
Businesses directly affected by the leak have already closed for the evening. However, Hy-Vee and the Highway remain open.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Jordan Bussa, there is currently no estimated repair time, but crews are hopeful the issue will be resolved by morning.
A quick note for residents: if you notice a gas smell in the area, officials say you are likely smelling the odorant added to natural gas to help detect leaks. At this time, it is not believed to be a cause for concern. Crews continue to monitor the situation.
