A unique effort to cover Minnesota schools in prayer is back for its 18th year. The Prayer Zone Partners Circle Tour brings together motorcyclists and prayer partners from across the state to ride, pray, and encourage communities as a new school year begins. The concept is simple: anyone can become a Prayer Zone Partner, committing to pray for schools as they drive past them. The Circle Tour takes it a step further, sending riders to public high schools and middle schools across Minnesota. This year’s ride includes 10 to 12 teams traveling different routes covering the state of Minnesota. One of the stops will be in Windom around 3 p.m. TODAY, where riders will gather around the school flagpole to pray for a good and safe school year. The Circle Tour began in 2008 and is organized through Minnesota Youth Alive, a Christian organization. Pastor Richard Baker, head coordinator, says the effort has grown to include couples, solo riders, and groups of 20–30 motorcyclists who join in at different points of the tour. Each year, participants cover hundreds of schools. With 727 public high schools and middle schools in the state, riders aim to visit as many as possible, sometimes reaching more than 650 in a single week. According to Baker, the inspiration this year comes from 1 Peter 3:15, which encourages believers to “always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that you have.” Riders say that hope is offered in the form of prayer for students, teachers, and communities. The Prayer Zone Partners Circle Tour is also supported online, with updates posted on the group’s Facebook page- https://www.facebook.com/pzpcircletourmn

KDOM wishes all the riders a safe and successful ride this week.
