So have you ever just sat back and thought about what you would be doing if you weren’t doing what you were doing right now? It’s a funny thing when you consider that you have been doing “your job” for over 10-15-or 20years plus… What else is out there? Do you have a knack for teaching? I happen to come across an article in the Windom Schools Newsletter that was reaching out to people that may consider being a substitute teacher. Did you know that in the state of Minnesota, a person with a 4-year degree in any field from a US regionally accredited college or University OR if you have 5 years of experience in a career and technical area such as Ag (farming), Construction, Business Ownership, Medical Services, the list goes on is eligible for a substitute license! According to the article, when you substitute teach at Windom Area Schools, you can choose the level and content area that you’d like to work in. AND you can work one day a month or every day. The pay is based on how many days you work. The daily rate of pay increases the more days you work ranging from $180 per day to $220 per day. This sounds like a pretty good gig. I am thinking of giving up radio and becoming a professional substitute teacher! If you are thinking like I am thinking and want to learn more about how you can pass your talents and knowledge onto the next generation, contact Heather Van Dyke at hvandyke@isd177.com or contact the schools HR specialist Holly Anderson at handerson@isd177.com What a wonderful way to give back to your community!
