The Windom City Council at their May 20th meeting passed a resolution proposing the vacation of an alley between 8th and 9th Streets, following a request from an adjacent property owner. The alley in question runs from the south line of 9th Street to the north line of the alley between 3rd and 4th Avenues. The resolution, requiring a supermajority vote of 4 out of 5 council members, was adopted during the council’s meeting. The City’s Street Committee had previously reviewed the request on May 15th and recommended the council proceed. As part of the resolution, Windom will retain any existing utility easements in the area. A public hearing will now be scheduled, and the City Administrator has been directed to notify affected property owners in accordance with Minnesota State Statute 412.851.

I really lucked out that today isn’t yesterday. Today is National Creativity Day and there may be hope for me to create something amazing today but yesterday I was out for the count on all levels of life and my creativity thermometer was sitting on frozen… There is promise for sunshine this weekend and I am stoked. While there has to be a little dreary in life, I am definitely a sunshine driven person. I’ll have to put my creative juices to task today too because it is actually National Hole in My Bucket Day… I’ll bet ol’ Nigel hates this National Day! I mean how many times does one have to be told there is a hole in my bucket dear nigel dear nigel and then for him to have to give ideas on how to fix it… I just bet this is the longest day in history for the fellow… Ironically it is also National Water a Flower Day which lends me the thought of THAT is probably why the song was made because many moons ago someone was trying to water their flower with a bucket of water and it just wasn’t happening… From the day I first held my grandson James in my arms he became my Bucket of Sunshine. So today if my Bucket has a hole in it, I’m okay because the beams can spill out and spread joy all around me! May your Flowers bloom despite the lack of water due to the hole in your bucket, take a moment and let that creativity flow in every leaky situation you face today!
