Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported 28 calls in the week of January 2nd to January 5th. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person standing in the middle of the street for quite some time in Jackson.  The Jackson Ambulance was also paged for precautionary measures. Deputies and Jackson Ambulance also responded to a report of a nude female laying on a sidewalk in Jackson in which the person was located and transported to the hospital. The 13th Annual Winter Great Lakes Toy Show is this weekend on Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday from 9am to 3pm, in Spirit Lake IA at the Fairgrounds. BARC is gearing up with their Utilities For A Day Fund Raiser.  If you would like to participate in BARC’s Utilities For A Day Program, they are asking to consider $ 100 to $125 in honor of someone, a special occasion or organization, or as a memorial. Paying the utilities at BARC is the largest expense faced each year, despite continuing efforts to control heating, electricity and water usage. This past year, utilities were just over $30,000 with an additional $10,500 for maintaining the heating system in the historic building. Your sponsorship on the date or dates chosen throughout 2025 will be recognized on BARC’s LED sign, unless requested to be anonymous. Help BARC fill the 2025 Calendar with as many sponsorships January to December. The Business Arts and Recreation Board of Directors and Staff extend their gratitude for the community’s continued support by investing in the future of BARC.
