The Windom Police Department submitted their July Monthly Crime Report that showed they had a total of 506 calls for the month. They had 9 Adult Arrests, 1 Juvenile Arrest and served 1 Warrant. There were 6 Accidents with 0 injuries and 3 DUI’s. Windom Police Officers issued a total of 145 Traffic Violations and Warnings for the month. July Weather Statistics
The monthly weather statistics have been reported for the city of Windom in July. The information is compiled by Dave Fjeld, the local weather observer and reported to the National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls. The highest temperature for the month was 92 degrees on July 14th and again on the 31st. The average high for the month was 83 degrees. 55 degrees was the lowest for the month on July 18th. July was a little wetter month than in 2023, with a total for the month of one and 98 hundredths of an inch falling in July, compared to an inch and 53 hundredths in 2023. For the year we have had thirty-one and 33 hundredths of an inch of precipitation which is thirteen and eighty-three hundredths more than at the end of July last year.

- Mt Lake City Council at 5:45pm in the Mt Lake City Hall.
- The Murray County Emergency Management Director will be present at the Fulda Senior Center TONIGHT from 5:00 – 8:00 pm to meet with anyone who had water or sewer damages from the June flood event to apply for possible individual assistance and answer questions. Please be sure to attend if you had any damages, please note that even if you have already reported to the City you are asked to attend this meeting at the Fulda Senior Center, no matter the dollar amount.

Night to Unite is tomorrow, Tuesday August 6th in the square in Windom. The Theme for the evening is Volunteerism. The Minnesota Department of Corrections has paired up with the Windom Chamber of Commerce once again to bring the community together and celebrate. The Public is invited out for a fun night on the square with a vehicle fair on 4th Ave for kids and adults to enjoy, music and a community cook-out provided by HyVee and an ice-cream social. There will also be a FREE CAR SEAT CLINIC at the Public Health Office located at 235 9th Street from 4-6pm. Pre-registration is encouraged but walk-ins will be welcomed. There will also be a Sign for those that Volunteered during the Flooding Crisis that will be embossed and hung at Island Park. Come to the square and enjoy a night of unification and see how you can get involved and enjoy being a part of something greater Night to Unite 5-7pm in the downtown square of Windom.

St James Police Department will also be Sponsoring Night to Unite at Memorial Park from 5-7pm. Activities will include Vehicle Tours, Food Trucks, Bean Bag Games, Bouncy House, National Guard Climbing Wall, Face Painting, Fire Truck Rides, Horseshoes, Basketball and Volleyball!!! Food Vendors will also be on the Southside of Memorial Park. The fun and community unification is in St James 5-7pm.

Local businesses who were impacted by the June flooding event can now apply for Small Business Administration Disaster Loans at https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance or at an upcoming Disaster Recovery Center in-person with FEMA staff. As of this broadcast there has not been an official release from FEMA, Cottonwood County or Windom Officials. As soon as details have been finalized and officially released, we will report the details.
