The Windom Community Center is gearing up for some Holiday Vacation FUN!! This year Inflatables are available the whole week of December 26th to the 30th. There will be no reason to have pent up energy or the vacation blues.
Tuesday the 26th Open Gym from 10am-5pm with Inflatables from Noon to 5.
Wednesday the 27th Open Gym and Inflatables from Noon to 5 and Pickle Ball from 6pm to 8:30pm.
Thursday and Friday the 28th and 29th Inflatables will be available from 10am to 4pm AND 6-8:30pm with an Open Gym from Noon to 5pm and 6pm-9pm.
Saturday the 30th there will be Open Gym and Inflatables from Noon to 5pm.
The cost is $5 per person. Check out the Windom Community Center for some good energy busting fun. For more information call the Community Center at 831-6149. Windom Community Center is located at 1750 Cottonwood Lake Drive.

The Windom School Board Truth and Taxation meeting on the 12th, the Board approved a .3% decrease for 2023. The final school tax levy is $4,316,448. According to Superintendent Jamie Frank, the decrease is attributed to a few decreases in the community education and debt service levy which caused the overall levy to decrease.

It’s Friday the 15th!!! I bet you were thinking that I was going to give you a low down on what whacky things can be attributed to this date, but I am not because it is just another day that we have all been granted to enjoy. I mean the end of the world is coming because it is the 15th of December and there are no snowplows out and about, a jacket is barely needed and it might not be a terrible thing to consider one last mow!!! Alright I can’t resist, today is National Ugly Sweater Day. Yes, I am wearing a sweater but not thinking it is THAT ugly and what do I care because I get to wear my sweater and eat cupcakes. How awesome is the invention of the cupcake? I mean it is cake and everyone loves cake but it is in a manageable hand held form… AND you can eat more than one and nobody knows. With a cake you have to cut a piece and be judged for the size or the gapping hole that has been removed. With a cupcake, you take one eat it, grab another and no one is the wiser because there isn’t anything to show unless someone finds all the cupcake liners in your pocket.. just saying the cupcake is a great invention. AND I can’t leave the day without recognizing that it is National wear your pearls day. I remember my grandma wearing her pearls, she was such a beautiful human being. AND I remember when my mom put on her pearls she was instantly turned into a beautiful princess off to a ball. AND I remember when I was gifted my Grandmothers pearls. Still to this day they make me feel incredibly blessed and wonderful. I am not the beautiful princess as my mother and grandmother were BUT I do feel amazing when I put on the pearls. My Dad gifted me a pearl ring when I was 16 years old and I wore that pearl with such love. I gifted that pearl to my son to give to his Bride when he proposed. You talk about a heart that was pumped up and exploding! I hope that someday my granddaughter will feel the real feels of inheriting my pearls. She is after all my only girl!!! I can’t wait… Ladies and Gents… Take out the pearls and wear them.. Especially today. Feel the magical power that they possess and dance with the Beast or chatter with the mice for today you are a princess in pearls.
