Holy Cow!! Not only is it Friday but we are going Face First into the second week of NOVEMBER!!! I mean there is only two weeks until Thanksgiving Day!! Where in the heck did this year go?? I’m one of those that like to celebrate, Halloween then Thanksgiving and THEN dive into the Christmas Season, but I feel like I am just going to blink and it is going to New Years!!! Today is National Civic Pride Day. It is a day to inspire everyone to promote the dynamic communities they live in. Our listening area communities truly are unique and dynamic and they should be celebrated not just today BUT everyday. It is so important to take pride in where you live and love where you live, I’ve already pointed out that time is flying by and it just makes life more pleasant when you care about your surroundings whether it be where you rest your head, work or play!!! I’d also like to give a shout out to all our Marines! Today is the United States Marine Corps Birthday! The United States Marine Corps, a branch of the United States Armed Forces, is responsible for providing power protection from the sea. They use the mobility of the United States Navy to deliver combined-arms task forces rapidly. The Continental Congress first established the Continental Marines on November 10, 1775, leading up to the American Revolution. Two battalions of Marines fought for independence both on land and at sea. AND ONE LAST most excellent thing to celebrate today is IT IS NATIONAL VANILLA CUPCAKE DAY!!! There is nothing better than vanilla cake except a portable cake YEP you know in the form of a CUPCAKE!!!! Eat sweet and celebrate big!!!
