According to Councilwoman Jenny Quade there were approximately 21 people that spoke publicly and there were two e-mailed messages that Mayor Dominic Jones read. Quade went onto say that, the majority of comments were in support of the proposed four-story 57,000- square foot medical office building and there were a lot of hospital employees present at the meeting to show solidarity and support of the strategic plan, governing board and strong leadership that they have at Windom Area Health. There were questions and concerns on the need of that much space needed and the debt/cash flow concerns on a 30-million-dollar project. According to Quade the finance committee will meet and discuss bids before coming to either the September 19th or October 3rd council meeting to seek approval for funding.
