Mountain Lake Police Department reported 12 calls for the week of July 17th through the 23rd. Officers assisted another agency with a suspicious person call and then assisted another agency with a motorist that was having vehicle issues. An officer checked out a report of a resident hearing noises outside their home but were unable to locate the source. Mt Lake Officers were assisting another agency with a driving complaint of a silver Honda Odessy swerving and traveling at high speeds on Highway 60 heading westbound from St. James. Officers were unable to locate the driver. Officers also assisted another agency with a fight/Assault Call with a probation Violation Arrest. Officers conducted a welfare check and handled a dog at large call where the owner was cited. An officer delt with a verbal domestic call where the parties were separated for the night. Officers assisted another agency with removal of debris in the roadway and an officer helped a motorist with changing a tire due to the debris and an officer took a report of property damage to a vehicle.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 24th they had 9 different calls including presence for Jackson District Court for a sentence hearing, a child that was walking around with no clothing at the Sunrise Estates Apartments the parents were unaware that he had snuck out of the apartment, delt with some juvenile males that were vaping under the Des Moines River Bridge on State Street, also responded to a juvenile issue at Brown Park. Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in a vehicle as it was traveling on County Road 4 east of the County Parks, dispatch transferred a 911 report to MN State Patrol of two cars traveling at a high rate of speed on MN 60 nearing Heron Lake that appeared to be racing each other. The Heron Lake Fire Department and REA were dispatched to a utility pole on fire in Heron Lake. Crews were on scene for about half hour. Jackson County Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash on County Road 4 at 9:35pm in the curves in Sioux Valley Township. After investigation a 43-year-old female from Windom was arrested for DUI and at 11:38pm dispatch transferred a call to MN State Patrol concerning a red pickup that was all over the road on MN 86 south of Lakefield.
