Today the Windom Fire Department will be getting their brand-new Fire Rig. According to Fire Chief Ben Derickson purchasing a new truck is a timely process that usually takes about 15 months from start to finish and they are feeling fortunate that everything went to plan and on schedule. The Rosenbauer Rig will look just like the one it is replacing. According to Derickson they kept it similar, to make it easier to acclimate and train. Derickson went onto say that the rig being replaced is approximately 28 years old and the last time the Department got a new truck was in 2015. Derickson said they hope to have the truck in service by the end of this weekend, and once the weather starts warming, they hope to have an open house at the station to show the community their new addition.
