Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. That’s a powerful reminder that something as simple as rolling up your sleeve can make a life-changing difference for someone in need. The American Red Cross is encouraging area residents to take a little time out of their busy schedules and give the gift of life at an upcoming blood drive in Windom. The blood drive will be held Wednesday, October 21st, from noon until 6 p.m. at the Windom Community Center, located at 1750 Cottonwood Lake Drive. The event is hosted by the Windom Women of Today. Blood donations are essential for accident victims, cancer patients, people undergoing surgery, and many others who depend on the generosity of donors. We all have busy lives, and it’s easy to think someone else will step up. But the truth is, every donor matters. You never know when the person needing blood could be a friend, a neighbor, or even someone in your own family. As an added thank-you, those who give blood during this drive are eligible to receive a $10 Amazon gift card by email, along with 200 bonus points toward Red Cross Donor Rewards. To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter the sponsor code WindomMN, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. It’s a small commitment of your time, but to someone waiting for lifesaving blood, it could mean everything. Make an appointment, roll up your sleeve, and help save a life.
