Windom Area Health is the hub of construction and building towards a new tomorrow. After having the opportunity to tour the newest addition I thought it would be fun to take you all on a tour through what I saw. There is a great Fact Site available for anyone that would like to access at www.windomareahealth.org/new-medical-building-faq/ At this time the elevators are installed BUT not working so we got to get our stairs in! We climbed clear to the top! After catching my breath it was taken away again with the WOW factor of what this floor is going to offer. On the Fourth Floor it is going to be an amazing workout/health focused space. The Wellness Center will become a 24/7 Facility for the public. It will be staffed Monday through Friday during business hours and the plan is to see if there will be a need for more staffing hours as time progresses. Wellness Members will have direct access to the 4th Floor for afterhours and weekends via FOB access. There will be no access to other parts of the building. There is an Open Floor Concept for Equipment, a Large Studio Space for Classes, A Community/Meeting Room with an adjacent demonstration kitchen that will be used for classes that teach healthy choices, various meetings and overflow for classes that might overlap with the Studio. There are two locker rooms with showers and bathrooms that will have 16 lockers in each space for membership use. Also worked into the design of this space are extra rooms that will be used in the future for different possibilities for example: Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, or Chiropractic Care. There will be tv’s set up for people working out BUT with the window walls personally watching the scenery outside seems like it would be scenery enough! If you have been to the Wellness Center before, this space is going to blow your mind because there is ROOM to ROAM and workout. The open space makes you feel like you can breath and the ceilings allow for air flow! The floor looks good too. They had just installed so we didn’t get a chance to walk on but were told the flooring is comparable to that what was in the original Wellness Center good for shock absorbency and easy on the knees and equipment. Tomorrow we will head down the stairs and take a look at the 3rd and 2nd Floors.
