History was made in Mountain Lake at the November 5th Election. According to Mountain Lake Public Schools Superintendent Brandon Henning this vote rendered the most votes cast in an operating referendum in the school’s history and it is the most votes cast in any approved referendum ever in the Mt Lake Public Schools history. Henning went on to say that he feels as though they put a lot of effort into educating the community about the referendum and he knows that it is incredibly rare for operating referendums to pass in a presidential election year. Statically, it wasn’t going to pass. Henning exclaimed that he is still waking up and saying WOW, it Really did Pass! Henning is grateful that the community realized how important the school is. He went on to say, “Just because the referendum passed, this doesn’t mean we are going on a spending spree. Henning stated they will be just as tight with their budgets, so they don’t find themselves in a similar situation down the road.
