It’s the first of the month and time to schedule some activities to make you feel better about yourself and your community! Windom Women of Today will be out four miles south of Windom on Monday 13th weather permitting to clean a section of the Road Ditch. Windom Women of Today Member Monica Muller is inviting anyone that would like to help to come out and pitch in. IF you would like to help and join in the fun. Please meet at 39775 US HWY 71 North at 6pm. Just a little sidebar. Back in South Dakota I use to help clean ditches and lake beaches and around parks. You may be thinking it is a CHORE but truly it is a great way to come together with others and get some fresh air, have some fellowship and feel accomplished when you are done! You don’t have to bring anything but yourself. The group has all the bags and vests and committed core members to help you feel great. AND maybe you just might learn a little bit more about this group of ladies that truly make a difference in our community. Step up and step out and come help clean the road ditch on Monday May 13th at 6pm. You know every time you drive by from that day on you will say to yourself, I am glad I volunteered and helped, it is a beautiful and clean stretch and I helped make that happen!

Hold onto your hats because it is a Great Day for Celebrating Fun National Days… Today is National Chocolate Custard Day… they say some call it pudding some call it custard but we must celebrate regardless of its name.. Now I don’t want to be a downer but Custard is WAY DIFFERENT than pudding so I am totally confused on what to celebrate… Saddest day is when Jell-O stopped making instant custard. Well my waist line was happy but my tastebuds not so much.. I believe this is a matter that should be taken to the garden. It just happens to be National Garden Meditation Day. There is nothing that says we can’t meditate on pudding if we want. As I look out my Big Picture Window into what in past years has been my pride and joy pond and flower garden it just brings me anxiety. Yep, it is a MESS. I cannot believe how many tree branches Steve threw into my space from this winter. I mean there are poor little flowers trying to grow, but to no end there is a branch in its way to blossom… BUT I do know of a few Greenhouses that I would love to go roam through and meditate amongst the beautiful colors and smells. Nothing relaxes your mind and body like nature in bloom. Today was also made for my Darcy Girl.. It is National No Pants Day!!! My granddaughter hates pants… She makes me laugh and I say hey at 3 if you don’t wanna wear pants I am not going to fight you!!! If you believe in Ghosts or do you remember as a kid pulling out the Ouija Board? How we all psyched ourselves out because Ruthie unbeknownst to us was moving the pointer with her pinkie.. It’s National Paranormal Day.. Oooooooo Ceeeellllllaaabbbbbrraaateeee…. And last but not least it is National Public Radio Day. Let’s give three cheers to show the value of public radio stations. So much value to their shows, fund raisers and educational pieces.
