Holy Buckets!!! It is the Eve of News Years Eve!!! It seems like it was just yesterday I was preparing for the Eve of Christmas Eve! New Years Eve is kind of a melancholy holiday for me. The older I get the more I appreciate my ability to say enough is enough and go to bed. I remember the days of Banging Pans at Midnight with the kids and then later throwing a New Years Party at the house for all those crazy high schoolers. I always loved knowing where my kids were and that they were in a safe place. They never knew what my intentions of being the kool-aide house were, and that’s okay. Then I remember our first New Years without the kids and we laughed and still banged the pans in spite of their absence then the next few years, we started giving staff the day off and Steve had to sign on so I banged the pans on my own with one of my boys on the other end of the phone… Then they both found girlfriends and staying up to yell Happy New Year just kind of lost its luster… BUT now that I have grandkids… I call them at about 7pm and yell HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It is a great celebration and I STILL get to go to bed before 10. Now that is what a true and fantastic New Year celebration is all about. I hope that everyone gets to celebrate the New Year like they want too. AND I pray that this New Year brings out the best in all of us. I feel like the last few years have created barriers or excuses not to be polite or kind. It seems as though we have become a society of give me, give me, give me… BUT don’t give anything back in return. Soo I am declaring that is my New Years wish is to have people get back to being decent. Celebrations are safe and fun. And that 2023 fulfills all expectations. AND if that isn’t enough to ponder and you want more… TODAY IS BACON DAY… ON  December 30th each year, bacon lovers celebrate one of nature’s favored gifts on Bacon Day! The day reminds us that bacon is not just for breakfast and encourages us to test out various ways to enjoy this culinary marvel. Bacon it just makes the world a better place. If you don’t believe me… Just ask My Sweet Henry… According to him he just can’t fathom a world without bacon…
