A couple of weeks ago Steve and I had a wonderful opportunity to go on the second half of the Windom City Council Tour of 7 different facilities within our beautiful City. It was an incredible experience to see how and where our sources of protection, energy, play, education, and events take place. In my mind as a citizen we take advantage of things just being in place and working. We forget the masters behind the curtains that help make our City light up and run. Starting next week, at Noon each day I will be taking the tour again with City Council Chair Jenny Quade. I’d like to point out she took really good notes and will guide us through the Emergency Services Facility, Library, Police Department, Telecom NOC, Island Park and Pool, Powerhouse and the Arena. Come join us as we explore the really special work our City Employees do to keep us running.

There are A LOT of things to celebrate today. WAY TOO MANY for me to mention. BUT I will mention a few that caught my eye… Sorry if I get long winded. Did you know…
National Give Something Away Day is TODAY? Yep, you know all those clothes in your closet that you never wear or all the pots and pans just taking up space? Today is the day you can officially give them away. It is a WIN WIN situation, you clear out space and you fill a need for someone else. OR you COULD give a gift to someone. Today is all about making the world a better place by giving something to someone else!
Also… Do you know someone who works with Developmental Disabled Individuals? Welp, give them a high five and a pat on the back because July 15th is Developmental Disability Professional Day. Don’t let these professionals go unnoticed for the excellent work they do with some of the most vulnerable people in the world!
And just because it is National Be a Dork Day don’t worry about your fashion sense or awkward social presence. National Dork Day aims to celebrate the dork in all of us! Remember today it is cool to be ADORKABLE… you know… Socially awkward but cute and adorable at the same time…
And I’d be ashamed of myself if I didn’t mention it is National Gummi Worm Day- Believe it or not… Adults, not kids have made gummi worms one of the most popular candies on earth. You can decrease the stress with a satisfying stretch before popping into your mouth or you can just bite its head off-
