Redwood County Sheriffs Office reported a fatal vehicle vs child accident on  April 15th at approximately 6pm near the intersection of CSAH6 and Jade Ave. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Wabasso Ambulance, Wabasso Fire Department, Centra Care Ambulance, and North Air Care.

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a report of vandalism to a tractor that parked near Lake Agusta over the winter. The tractor received damage to two windows.

On April 15th the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office received a report from an off-duty Deputy of people trespassing on a property in Storden that was posted with No Trespassing and has had several thefts reported within the last year. The off-duty deputy approached the individuals to speak to them about being on the property while Cottonwood County Deputies were enroute to their location. Upon investigation a 45 year old male from Westbrook and a 28 year old male from Comfrey were arrested for Trespass. Charges are pending.

Kristen Porath was unanimously voted in as the new Full-Time Ambulance Director by the Windom City Council. Porath has worked with the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office for the past 18 ½ years and stated that it was a very hard decision to leave her current job because the sheriff has been really good to her, but it was an opportunity she had to try for. Porath went on to say that she enjoys being an EMT and it is a challenge that she looks forward to. Porath will be the first full-time ambulance director. She will be replacing Tim Hacker who has held this part-time position for many years.

BINGO IS BACK AT BARC Tuesday, April 19th at 6pm.
