It will be located along Highway 60/71 in Lohmann Park.  According to Foundation Board Member Justin Schmidt they have raised over $63,000 to date and are about $15,000 short of their goal.  The plan to is start construction this spring. There has been such an overwhelming show of support from families and businesses for this project and the Windom Foundation believes the remaining donations will come in soon.

Schmidt stated, there is a constant effort to continue to raise funds for the Endowment Fund.   Windom Area Foundation continues to see donations come in for the endowment fund, which has raised roughly $300,000 over the past year.  Growth in the endowment will give the Windom Area Foundation the ability to give back to the community and help others move projects forward.

It’s March 14th!! DO you KNOW what today is??? It’s National Pi Day. It’s a nod to the first three digits of the mathematical constant 3.14, which just also happens to be Albert Einstein’s Birthday!! Pi Day is celebrated by math fans all around the world – often with PIE to celebrate all things pi!

If asked.. how many digits could you state for pi? What I can honestly say is 3.14159 is as far as I can go..  In  a study

  • 74% of students said they are confident they know how to write the number for pi, but…
  • 55.3% of students could identify only the first 5 digits of pi
  • 34% of high school students who said they knew how to write pi, chose the wrong option
  • 30.5% of students know that pi is defined as the radio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter

Pi is an irrational number, which means that it is a real number that cannot be expressed by a simple fraction. That’s because pi is what mathematicians call an “infinite decimal” — after the decimal point, the digits go on forever and ever. For me…. I like the PIE part of pi day… Did you know that out of 100 people

  • 22.7%  like Chocolate pie the most
  • 22.1% liked Apple
  • 15.9% picked Lemon meringue
  • 12.3% chose Blueberry pie
  • 8.4% prefer Cherry and there are 18.6% outta their mind people that don’t even like pie!

Whether you are into mathematics or Bakery goodness ENJOY PI DAY TODAY!!!!
