It’s not a National Holiday but it should be!!! Did you know that February 15th marks the day we celebrate Susan B. Anthony. If you are about my age, you may remember the Susan B. Anthony Dollar Coin… I LOVED THEM. I Collected them, I have always been a fan of the accomplishments and the grit that Susan B Anthony represented, she is a historical heroine.  Anthony, is one of the most influential leaders in American history. She fought a lifelong battle of suffrage for women, equal labor, educational rights for women and she proudly took a stand against the practice of slavery.

Just a few fun facts to make celebrating this day all the more awesome

  • Anthony organized the Women’s Loyal National League. It was the first national women’s political organization in the U.S.
  • In 1900, Anthony led a successful campaign for The University of Rochester to accept women. Today, Anthony is memorialized at the school with The Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies.
