River Bend Liquor in Windom will turn a National Bourbon Heritage Month event into an opportunity to support the Windom Fire Department Relief Association this Saturday, September 12th. The Rare Bottle Release and Windom Fire Department Fundraiser will be held at River Bend Liquor, 575 2nd Avenue in Windom. A bourbon tasting will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a rare and allocated bourbon opportunity-to-purchase drawing at 1:10 p.m. Those attending the tasting will receive one free registration for the drawing. From noon to 1 p.m., participants can receive additional registrations by making a $5 donation per registration to the Windom Fire Department Relief Association. Most importantly, 100 percent of the money collected from those additional registrations will stay with the Windom Fire Department Relief Association. Donations must be made by cash or good check. Each registration provides an opportunity to purchase one of the rare or allocated bourbon bottles available during the event. Those selected will choose from the available inventory in order their registrations are drawn, and individuals with multiple registrations could be drawn more than once. Buyers must be present for the drawing at 1:10 p.m., and all purchases will be completed at River Bend Liquor following the event. The fundraiser gives area residents a chance to take part in River Bend Liquor’s Rare Bottle Release while raising money that directly benefits the Windom Fire Department Relief Association and the local firefighters who serve the community. A list of rare bottles available for the drawing can be found at River Bend Liquor or on its Facebook event page. For additional information, contact River Bend Liquor at 507-831-6132.
