Windom Police Officers investigated 3 Suspicious Vehicles, 9 Suspicious Activities, 8 Thefts, 1 Breaking and Entering, 5 Driving Complaints, 1 Hit and Run Accident and 1 Noise Complaint. Officers responded to 1 Harassment Call, 1 Verbal Only, 1 Terroristic Threat and conducted 1 Predatory Offender Check. MN State Patrol reported an off-road utility vehicle accident on the 30th of July in German Township in Cottonwood County. According to the report at approximately 7:42pm a 2015 Polaris Ranger driven by a juvenile 15-year-old male from Sanborn was traveling Northbound in the ditch parallel to Highway 71 when he lost control of the vehicle and rolled near 240th Street. The juvenile was not wearing a helmet and was transported to the Windom Hospital with Life Threatening Injuries. Outside Agencies assisting were Sanborn Ambulance, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, DNR, and Sanborn Fire.

The monthly weather statistics have been reported for the city of Windom in July. The information is compiled by Dave Fjeld, the local weather observer, and reported to the National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls. The high temperature for the month was 94 degrees on the 27th of July. The average high for the month was 85.9 degrees. 51 degrees was the low for the month on July 23rd. July was another dry month this year with a total of three and 32 hundredths of an inch of precipitation falling in July, with an inch and 40 hundredths falling on the 7th, compared to three and nine hundredths for the entire month in 2025. For the year we have had 15 and 59 hundredths of an inch of precipitation, which is not quite an inch less than last July when we had received 16 and 23 hundredths of an inch.
