Windom Police Department reported on March 30th at Noon they received a report from a Windom Resident regarding a burglary and damage to property in the 60th Block of 9th Street by a female that she had met online. According to the report, a 25-year-old female from Mankato had entered the victims home without consent and committed a crime while in the dwelling. After review by the prosecuting attorney’s office, the female was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a Felony. On April 2nd at 7:40pm an officer on patrol on 8th Street near Miller Ave observed a vehicle traveling with suspicious conduct. The officer initiated a traffic stop and after investigation an arrest was made of a 45-year-old Windom female for 3rd Degree DWI and Endanger Child-Situation could cause harm or death. Both Gross Misdemeanors after review by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office she was only charged with the 3rd Degree DWI.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported 21 calls from March 30th to April 2nd. Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in Round Lake Township and one in Jackson, and two juvenile issues. Investigated two separate driving complaints, vandalism inside Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson, a report of fraud, a report of a counterfeit $1 bill found in a UCAP bus fare box and a report of fraud with someone using a bank account without consent. Deputies conducted two welfare checks assisted MN State Patrol and Worthing Police Department and Dispatch transferred a call to the MN DNR of a litter of coyote pups in the Jackson City limits.
