If you’re looking for a true taste of Scandinavian tradition and maybe a story to tell afterward the Annual Lutefisk Supper is back at American Lutheran Church in Windom. The longtime community favorite happens Saturday, January 10th, with serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church, located at 906 Prospect Avenue in Windom. Parking is available in the lot at the corner of Miller Avenue and 10th Street. The menu features all the classics: lutefisk, meatballs, lefse, and more, plus a popular “Seconds” table for anyone ready to go back for round two. Lutefisk, for the uninitiated, is a traditional Norwegian dish made from dried cod that’s been rehydrated and prepared the old-fashioned way. Love it or approach it with caution, fans say it’s a winter tradition that brings people together, and sparks plenty of good-natured debate at the dinner table. Tickets will be limited at the door. Cost is $15 for adults and $8 for ages 12 and under. For questions or to make a reservation, you can call the church office at 831-1794. This Saturday, don’t miss the Lutefisk Supper whether you come for the lutefisk, the lefse, or just the fellowship.

Ok so here we are one week into the New Year and I have YET to start my resolution. It isn’t because I don’t want to, I think about it A LOT… I beat my head against my pillow at night because another day came and went without me starting my 2026 journey. I am going to do it… I swear… how does the saying go? You don’t have to be Great to Start But you have to Start to be Great… It’s my motto for the New Year… Today is ACTUALLY National Quitters Day BUT I swear I am going to change the scenario.. After all Babe Ruth said, Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. Off topic, but did you know today is also National word nerd day! Do you play wordle? I am daily player it either humbles me or makes me feel like a genius. There is no in between. And last but certainly not least… Today is National Law Enforcement Day. I’d like to give a BIG shout out to all our Law Enforcement Agents. I am grateful for all you do and today is a reminder that behind the badge are neighbors, parents, and friends who choose to serve. Thank you for standing watch over our communities we are safer because of you.
