A reminder that Kastle Kingdom Design Day is happening TONIGHT from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the BARC Library. The City of Windom and Friends of Windom Parks invite the public to stop in and help shape the future of the new Kastle Kingdom playground. Community members can share ideas, view early design concepts, and learn more about the rebuilding process planned for 2026. Everyone is welcome. The public is invited to experience the sights and sounds of the Christmas season tonight at American Lutheran Church in Windom. American Lutheran is hosting its annual Living Nativity this evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at the church, located at 906 Prospect Avenue. The nativity can be viewed either on foot or from your vehicle. Before and during the event, a soup and chili supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall for a suggested donation of 8 dollars, with all proceeds supporting the church’s youth programs. Those attending can also enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, live music, a holiday bake sale, popcorn, cider, and the chance to see and pet animals, both indoors and outside. Guests are encouraged to bring food donations for the Sharing Center. If you’re driving through, volunteers will even come to your car to collect donations. The Living Nativity at American Lutheran Church is free and open to everyone and runs through 7:30 tonight.

Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 55 calls in the week of November 30th to December 6th. Deputies conducted 12 Civil Processes, responded to 1 Domestic Assault, 2 Concerns for Welfare, conducted 16 Predatory Offender Checks, 2 Public Assists, 2 Motorist Assists and 1 Traffic Stop. MN State Patrol reported a two-vehicle injury accident on the 8th at approximately 1:22am on Interstate 90 at mile marker 7 in Rock County. The report stated that a 2026 Freightliner Semi driven by a 29-year-old male from Mesa AZ and a 2026 Freightliner Semi driven by a 56-year-old male of Fayetteville NC were both traveling westbound on interstate 90 when they collided resulting in one semi jackknifed in the median and the other on the shoulder of the interstate. Both drivers and passenger in the 2nd Semi, were transported to Sanford Hospital in Luverne. Assisting at the scene were Luverne Fire Department, Department of Transportation, Luverne EMS, and Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

On the 6th at 2:38pm MN State Patrol reported a single vehicle two person accident on Highway 60 in Heron Lake. According to the report, a 2002 Honda Civic driven by a 32-year-old female from Windom along with her passenger a 31-year-old male from Windom were traveling westbound on Highway 60 when the vehicle lost control in the snow and struck a light pole. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and both were transported to Sanford Worthington Hospital with what was thought to be non-life threatening injuries. Assisting at the scene was Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Heron Lake Fire & Ambulance and MN Department of Transportation.
