Students at Mountain Lake Public School are preparing to bring a beloved classic to the stage as they present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella this weekend November 7th–9th. Performances will be held in the Mountain Lake Public School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with a special matinee performance on Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door, $7 for adults and $5 for students. No advance ticket sales will be offered. Director Travis Smith shared his excitement about the production, noting that this year’s cast includes 50 student performers.  It takes a lot of time and dedication to put on a production such as this and Smith says the kids will be ready and he can’t wait for the community to see their talent. Smith also expressed gratitude to those who helped bring the production to life behind the scenes. Set design and construction are led by Darcy Dahna and Micah Hopper, with costume direction by Jamie Smith and seamstress support from Cynthia Wilson. The show’s magical carriage was crafted by Tim Ruby, with additional assistance from Cory Wilson. “And a huge thank-you goes out to all of our wonderful parents,” Smith added. “They’ve given up time with their kids during these long rehearsal hours, and some have even cooked meals for us over the past week. We couldn’t do this without them.” Community members are invited to attend and support these hardworking students as they bring this timeless fairy tale to life on stage. Don’t miss your chance to see Cinderella Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
