The City of Mountain Lake wants to hear from the community! As part of creating a new Active Transportation Action Plan, residents are encouraged to share their ideas, opinions, and suggestions for making walking, biking, and rolling safer and more enjoyable in the community. According to City Administrator Michael Muller, a notice was recently included in the utility bill, and the city is asking for feedback.

The plan will build on past efforts like the city’s 2015 Active Living Plan, Safe Routes to School projects, and the work of the Active Living Committee. It will look at barriers, gaps, and community destinations all with the goal of making Mountain Lake a place where everyone can move safely, whether on foot, bike, scooter, or wheelchair. Muller went onto say.

Today is full of Bigger, Better and Love ideas! It’s National Better Breakfast Day I mean the cold cereal with burnt toast actually COULD use a boost! Are you a Carnivore or a Veggie Elite kind of person? I’d like to say that I just don’t understand how you can’t like meat but I have grown through the years and opened my mind to different opinions. I’m not saying that there will ever be a week that a big juicy hamburger won’t be a goal in my mind, but today is Hug a Vegetarian Day and I can’t imagine a world that I live in where my niece wasn’t readily available to hug.. Today I just hug her a little tighter to celebrate her unique taste buds and shake my head at the thought of mashed potatoes with sunflower seeds.. Sarah you do you Lovie… Have you written your Love Note today? Make someone’s day and jot that note of love and admiration in celebration of Love Note Day. I love watching movies that a younger member of the family finds love letters or notes to their family members and learn a vulnerable side and information that makes everything click! I love reading past letters from my parents that were saved to be savored over the years! If you aren’t a word person? Today is Doodle Day too!!! Doodle your feelings to your hearts content! It is a great day to celebrate!!!
