The Windom Police Department reported 72 calls in the week of August 3rd to August 9th. Officers responded to 2 Animal Calls, had 15 Directed Patrols, received 2 Citizen Complaints, responded to 1 Disorderly Conduct, 2 Civil Disputes and 1 Harassment Call. Deputies investigated an OFP/HRO Violation, a Vandalism report and conducted 20 Traffic Stops. The Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to celebrate Sunflower Days 2025 on Monday, August 25th at the Mountain Lake City Park. The festivities will include a Lion’s Club Polish Sausage Feed from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Picnic Shelter, and free banana splits with a coupon from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Gazebo. Coupons can be picked up now through August 25th by visiting participating businesses. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win $50 in Chamber Dollars by signing a receipt from a participating business, adding their name and phone number, and dropping it into the entry box at the banana split line during the event. The Chamber says Sunflower Days is a great way to promote local businesses, bring the community together, and celebrate the summer season all under the theme, “Together We Prosper.”
