Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported 18 calls from July 11th to July 13th. Deputies responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex in Jackson, a report of harassment in Heron Lake, and a disturbance at a gas station in Jackson between family members from Texas traveling through the county. Deputies also responded to a late night call of a suspicious person reported to be walking in circles in the middle of the roadway on US 71 near I-90. Deputies located a16-year-old female and learned that she had snuck out of a nearby motel room where her family was staying. The Juvenile was released back to her family. Windom Police Department reported on the 12th at 12:45am an officer was on patrol on Highway 60 near 11th Street traveling behind a vehicle that was driving erratically. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of 6th Ave and 10th Street. After investigation, an arrest was made of a 24-year-old male from Windom for Gross Misdemeanor DWI, pending review of by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. At 8:41pm an officer spotted a male whom he recognized from prior professional contacts. Dispatch confirmed there was a valid protection order involving this male and a female from Windom. After further investigation, an arrest was made of a 30-year-old Windom male for Violation of a Protection order.  On the 13th at approximately 1:30am a Windom Female had called the Sheriff’s office and wanted to speak with an officer. At the time of this call she sounded very intoxicated and stated that she had been kicked out of the Jeffers Bar, then at 2:37am while on patrol on River Road the same officer learned through investigation he was in contact with this same female in the 1400 block of 17th Street, after further investigation an arrest was made of a 26-year-old female from Windom for possible Gross Misdemeanor DWI, pending review by the prosecuting attorney’s office. At 2:37am while an officer was conducting a DWI investigation, a female that was being investigated told the officer if she is going to jail, then so was her ex. The officer knew who the female was referring to due to past contacts with both parties. The female showed the officer her cell phone with messages from her ex, that had threatened to kill her and her children if she tries to be with anyone else. After investigation, an arrest was made of a 30-year-old male from Windom for Harassment Order Violation, a possible Felony due to past domestic violence convictions with the same victim.
