I cannot believe how fast this month is flying by… I mean GRADUATION is next week! Memorial Day is one week away which means we are heading face first into Summer! Today is National Love a Tree Day. I have to say I feel like trees are my resource for rejuvenating my soul. I love all my trees, and the time has come that their poor inner cores have given all they have and time to take out. I was all YES, this one, and that one and okay I see that the third and fourth one will also need to be taken down… How brave I was until I put the giant X on each of them. I find myself going tree to tree and placing my hands on them and thanking them for all the life they have given through homes for the birds and critters, shade, wind blocks, beautiful scenery, protection against the enemy while hiding behind while playing with my grandkids, or giving that lower branch step up for a tricky climb and when feeling low seeing how the strength to bend in the weather and survive gave me hope and purpose. I will continue to celebrate love a tree and cherish the foundation of trunk to the tipy top of the sky where it once swayed and watched over me, my family and my home. Sorry for the ol melancholy reflection. If it helps, today is also do something good for your neighbor day and I am taking out my dead trees for them… If you are thinking what else could I do for my neighbors, it IS Pizza Party Day, make it a Block Party after all we are entering the celebration of the moment time of year… SUMMER!!! Oh YEAH!!!!
