According to the Cottonwood County Emergency Management they received an email on the 28th of March from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls. Due to ongoing critical NWS staffing shortages, all remaining in-person Severe Weather Awareness/Spotter Training classes will be canceled for this year. This includes the Awareness training on April 10th that was scheduled for Jackson and Cottonwood County at the MN West College in Jackson. It is hoped that next year they will be able to host a training next Spring in 2026.
