Mountain Lake Police Department reported 24 calls from March 3rd to March 9th. Officers issued snow bird tickets, followed up on driving complaints, assisted the public and other agencies and had a funeral escort. Windom Police Department reported on the 10th at approximately 8:24pm an officer responded to the 2000 Block of Great Bend Blvd for a possible burgarly. Upon arrival the officer spoke with a male from Windom that lives at the house. According to him, his daughter and her boyfriend had broke into his house by coming through a window. The two suspects a 23-year-old male and a 21-year-old female were taken into custody. Both had outstanding warrants. The female had a Minnehaha Warrant for Possession of Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Controlled Substance. The male had a Probation Violation Warrant. At around 11pm an officer on patrol at the 6th Street and 1 Ave intersection observed a dark colored SUV in the parking lot in front of Lewis Drug with exterior running lights. The driver appeared to be sleeping. After investigation and performing the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, an arrest was made of a 47-year-old female from Plymouth MN for possible Felony First Degree DWI, pending review by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Windom Elementary Parent Teacher Organization and McDonald’s are committed to working together to support the elementary school that includes preschool through 4th Grade Students. On Monday, March 24th from 4-7pm Windom McDonald’s and the PTO will be joining forces for McPTO night. Teachers and Parents will be serving up all your favorites with a smile. The Windom Elementary PTO will receive 10% of all sales. The PTO will also be accepting CASH donations and tips during this time period. The class with the highest percentage of students attending for McPTO night will win a  McDonald’s Fry-Yay Party!!! Windom Elementary PTO’s mission is to enrich the educational experience of students, support staff and connect families and the community!!!
