The Windom Police Department submitted their January  2025 Monthly Crime Report. They had 4 Adult Arrests, 2 Juvenile Arrest and served 2 Warrants with a total of 379 Calls for the month. There were 9 Accidents with 2 injuries and 1 DUI. Windom Police Officers issued a total of 106 Traffic Violations and Warnings for the month. The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported on the 28th at approximately 12:58am deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of County Road 13 for an assault with knife that had taken place. After investigation, a 41-year-old male from Windom was arrested and charges were filed for 5th degree Assault and Threat of Violence.

The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners met yesterday. The Commissioners approved the budget for the East and West Stair Landings Project and voted to move forward. They also approved the purchase of an APX 6500 radio from Alpha Wireless off the state quote in the amount of $5,793.12. The Emergency Management trailer will be declared as surplus and the Commissioners authorized the Emergency Management Director to sell it. It was moved to set the county fee for Sunday Liquor Licenses at $200. All hires and terminations were approved. The Board approved the 2025 ditch assessments as presented.

The 41st Annual Windom Farm and Home Show will be held on Saturday, March 8th at the Windom Area Middle/High School from 8:30am-2pm. According to Executive Director Darci Jones, this event supports and promotes local farm and home related businesses. It is free to the public to attend, AND the Zoo Man will be there for two shows 11am and 12:30pm in the Commons Room.
