The Windom Police Department submitted their November Monthly Crime Report that showed they had a total of 454 calls for the month. They had 10 Adult Arrests, 1 Juvenile Arrest and served 1 Warrant. There were 8 Accidents with 0 injuries and 0 DUI’s. Windom Police Officers issued a total of 151 Traffic Violations and Warnings for the month. Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reported 33 calls in the week of November 25th to the 30th. Deputies received a report from a resident who discovered someone opened a fraudulent bank account in their name, responded to a requested welfare check on an individual at an apartment complex in Jackson. After investigating, a 53 year old male from Jackson was arrested for 2nd Degree Assault with a Firearm. Meetings today include:
- Murray County Board of Commissioners at 8:30am in the Murray County Government Center. If you would like to listen in by calling or view the meeting via zoom you can find the information on the Murray County Homepage.
- Jackson County Board of Commissioners and the Drainage Authority at 4pm at the Jackson County Court House Commissioners Board Room. At 6pm the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS will hold the 2025 BUDGET AND TAX LEVY PRESENTATION AND PUBLIC COMMENT MEETING, it was noted that this meeting is not being held to address individual property assessment concerns. The public comment period is to allow for comments related to the proposed final 2025 tax levy & fiscal year 2025 budget.
- The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners will be meeting on at a special time, 5pm at the County Courthouse in Windom. There will be a Truth in Taxation hearing at 6pm. On the agenda is border to border fiber optic broadband to rural areas in the county and communities not currently served by broadband companies and also act on the 2025 pay matrix and salaries of elected officials.
- The St James City Council will be meeting at 5:30pm in James City Hall – Council Chambers. Meetings can be viewed live or anytime on the City of St James’s YouTube Channel.
- Mt Lake City Council will be at 5:45pm in the Mt Lake City Hall. There will be a Truth in Taxation Public Budget Meeting at this time too.
- The Windom City Council meets at 6:30 pm at Windom City Hall in the City Council Chambers

I just thought I would let you know that I saw it with my own eyes and heard it with my very own ears!!! The Reindeer Races are coming back!!!! It sounds like Santa LOVED the extra incentive for his reindeer last year and says come on back. It is going to be an exciting few weeks! If I heard right, races start on Monday the 7th and according to Santa he will be running his crew until around the 20th. He said this was a crazy summer for them and it appears the deers have all been super lazy and NEED to get some races in so that they will be able to hit all the roof tops around the world this year!
