The Minnesota State Patrol released the following information on a fatality accident that happened at 6:35pm on the 7th on Highway 71 at mile marker 28 in Windom, Cottonwood County. A 2007 Peterbilt Semi driven by a 38-year-old male from Springfield MN was traveling westbound on Highway 60 while a 76-year-old male from Windom was traveling southbound in his 2016 Ford Edge, on Cindy Street. The two vehicles collided in the intersection resulting in a T-Bone crash killing the driver identified as Terri Fredin. Fredin’s passenger a 78-year-old female from Windom was transported to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls SD with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Semi and his passenger a 27-year-old female from N Sioux City South Dakota were not injured. Outside agencies assisting were Windom Police Department, Windom Fire and Ambulance, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported 9 calls on November 6th and 7th. Deputies were called out twice for a suspicious person and vehicle. One reporting party lived on the Southern Edge of Jackson and the other approximately 1.5 miles west of Jackson. Both parties reported a young man with black hair driving a white sedan perhaps a 200 Chrysler, that was seen looking around both properties and when confronted said he was looking for his cat. There will be a Veteran’s Day Program presented by the Windom American Legion Post 206 and Ladies Auxiliary THIS MORNING AT 9:30am at the Windom Area High School. There will be a full program with posting the National Colors and National Anthem and Pledge Allegiance, music by students and the Windom High School Band, presentation by Boys and Girls State Representatives and guest speaker, Pam Krill, of the American Legion 2nd/7th District Vice-Commander. 50 Year American Legion Post 206 Members will be honored along with Fallen Veteran’s and Taps will be played for all deceased members. The program will end with the retirement of colors. Come to the Veteran’s Day Program for a time to Remember the Sacrifice and the Valor of our Veterans. This program is being sponsored in part by LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center, Thrivent- Justin Espenson, Shannon Lynn’s Floral and Boutique.

Mountain Lake Public Schools- School Board announced there will be a Special School Board Meeting on Wednesday, November 13th at 7:30am at the School located at 450 12th Street. The Agenda will be Canvassing Returns of Votes of Special Election.
