So I am back… For those of you that don’t know I lost my Mom on Sunday October 13th. I didn’t lose her in the sense I can’t find her, I mean that she passed away. I was soooo blessed to be the one that was with her when she took her last breath and I will forever be changed from the experience. Monday we will be celebrating her 91 years her on this earth and I am delivering her eulogy.. So I thought… hey why don’t I just give it a dry run here.. Just kidding! I am not going to do that. My Mom had a great sense of humor and I am lucky to have inherited that trait.. Well maybe… I think maybe my sense of humor is a little more dangerous then hers.. But then again I learned from her so I will make her own what she did to me! I am just going to say how much I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and hugs. You just never really know about how blessed you are until something goes sideways. Small town life is special, and I can’t begin to express my gratitude to everyone that has reached out and made me feel covered and cared for. I am not going to let you down and not tell you all about what we should be celebrating today. The three that I picked are just by coincidence at the forefront of my existence right now. It’s National Prayer Day today- need I say more. Prayers are just the most valuable asset that we humans can hold. They don’t cost anything in coin to give, receive or cherish. They just make the difference in everything even when you don’t think so. It’s also National Healthcare Aide Day. How these beautiful people do what they do and always carry a smile on their faces and in their hearts is beyond me. I tip my hat to ALL that care for the sick, the elderly, the children and the rest of the grumpy people in life. YOU ARE A BLESSING!!! And last but not least it is National Chocolate CupCake Day… Can there be anything better? You know it, a small chunk of cake that you can actually eat more than one because they are individually served… IF there is no cupcake liner, no one knows you are stuffing your jaws because there is NO EVIDENCE… If the Cupcakes do have liners they are best eaten if you have pockets in your shirt or pants. Why? Well you can stuff the liners in your pockets and no one is the wiser of how many you have eaten… unless you accidentally spill on your shirt or the frosting sticks to your teeth in which then it is hilarious and who really cares because you are laughing too hard. Today take a moment to yourself and appreciate those that are around you, even if they drive you batty because in all reality, 91 years is not enough time.
