Windom Police Department reported a minor two vehicle non injury in the Windom High School Parking Lot on the 11th at 3:22pm. On the 12th at 9:16am an officer on patrol observed a vehicle with the driver that appeared to be talking on a cell phone and not wearing a seatbelt. The officer initiated a traffic stop at 193 9th Street. Upon investigation charges are pending on a 44-year-old Windom male for Driving Restrictions-Alcohol/Controlled Substance Violation & Operate/Control Motor Vehicle without ignition interlock, pending review by the Prosecuting Attorney Office. Also, on the 12th at 10;27pm, an officer was called to the South Windom Apartments for a property damage accident. Driver of a 2017 Chevy CRZ was turning left into the parking lot at 6th Ave S, and hit the City of Windom Stop Sign. There were no injuries, minor damage to the vehicle and a temporary stop sign was placed in the location.

Windom Area Schools Building and Grounds Committee will hold a meeting in the Superintendent’s Office on Wednesday October 16th at 2:45pm. The purpose of the meeting will be to provide feedback on the community survey written by School Perceptions in regard to the Arts and Athletics Facility Project.
