Weekly Citizen Report September 29th to October 5th

Minnesota State Patrol reported on the 8th at 9:09am a two-vehicle accident on I-90 at mile post 61 in Jackson County. A 1993 Oldsmobile driven by a 59-year-old male from Harrisburg SD was traveling Eastbound on I-90. A 2013 Kia Soul driven by a 72-year-old female from Altura was traveling Westbound on I-90. The Oldsmobile crossed over the median and into the westbound lanes of I-90 and collided with the Kia. The driver of the Oldsmobile was transported to the Worthington Hospital with what was thought to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Kia and her 75-year-old passenger were transported to the Jackson Hospital with what was thought to be non-life-threatening injuries. All were reported to be wearing seatbelts. Outside agencies assisting were Jackson County Sheriff Office, Lakefield Ambulance, and Jackson Ambulance. On the 6th at approximately 2pm at the intersection of Highway 60 and 570th Avenue in Mountain Lake a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by 47-year-old male from Worthington was westbound on Highway 60 when a 2013 GMC Terrain SUV driven by a 16-year-old female was southbound on 570th Avenue. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. Two of the three passengers in the Terrain were transported to Windom Area Hospital with what was thought to be non-life-threatening injuries. The passengers in the Corolla was also transported with what was thought to be non-life threatening injuries to Windom Area Hospital. All occupants in each vehicle except for one passenger in the Terrain were wearing seat belts. Outside Agencies assisting were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Department, Mountain Lake Police, Fire and Ambulance.

The Windom Police Department submitted their September Monthly Crime Report that showed they had a total of 514 calls for the month. They had 17 Adult Arrests, 4 Juvenile Arrests and served 1 Warrant. There were 7 Accidents with 1 injury and 6 DUI’s. The Cottonwood County Landfill will be holding a Special Reduced Pricing for Tire Collection Thursday October 10th from 12:30 to 5:30pm at the Cottonwood County Landfill located at 43979 County Road 22 in Windom.
