Windom Area Health’s new Medical Building continues to make great progress! But it has become necessary to temporarily re-route the Emergency Room (ER) Entrance to allow for construction on the new parking lot. Starting on Monday September 30th at 7:30am, the ER entrance will be on the East side of the Hospital. Weather temperatures will play a major role in how soon the parking lot can be completed. The earliest would be the end of November but if temperatures drop, it will be put on hold till Spring of 2025. Watch for signage to navigate to the temporary ER Entrance. Windom Family Medical Center patients will enter the door to the right of the current entrance and the current reserved parking for WFMC will be on the other side of the East parking lot to make room for ER entrance parking. The ER door will be staffed 24/7 until the original ER entrance is reopened. Windom Area Health extends their appreciation to the community for their patience and understanding as they continue to focus on providing an incredible patient experience and serving as the regional center of care. A Windom Police Officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 60 and Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic on the 25th at approximately 7:23pm. An officer observed a vehicle driven by a Windom male known to have a driving status of suspended as he passed the squad car in the 2200 block of Highway 60. The Officer initiated a traffic stop after running vehicle license plates to confirm status. After further investigation, a citation was issued to the 52-year-old Windom Male for Driving After Revocation and Driver Must Carry Proof of Insurance.

Rent the movie Brave if you don’t know how to be BRAVE, it really is a great and inspiring children’s movie… I loved it… The day only gets better when you indulge in National Chocolate Milk Day, be sure to make a mustache.. We all know Milk it does the body good AND Chocolate Milk just makes a your tastebuds tango! Oh and believe it or not, it is Hug a Vegetarian Day… It’s okay.. Be Brave… And I’d like to do a shout out because it is Morning Show Hosts Day! It is celebrated on the 27th of September every year and it is dedicated to getting to know the personalities behind your favorite morning show. It may seem like an easy gig but honestly there is so much more to bringing you news, weather, sports, dumb jokes, useless information and playing your favorite tunes. Personally, it always makes me laugh, and I can say it has been going on now for over 35 years, that women and men come up to me and say I wake up with your husband every morning! At least I know where he is and what he is saying around town…
