Today is the last day for the Mountain Lake Pow Wow Celebration, BUT that doesn’t mean there isn’t a ton of fun and good food to go out with a bang! The Grande Parade didn’t disappoint, pictures for the KDOM “Inside Looking Out” Picture contest will be posted on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to go take a look and like or love your favorite one! Today you can still attend the Petting Zoo, have fun on the Midway, Kid’s Pedal Pull, and Firemen’s Water Fight! And tonight with the looming weather forecast starting at 4:45pm until 10pm ALL the fun entertainment that was supposed to be at the City Park Band Shelter will be moved to the Mt Lake Public Schools Auditorium. The fun continues out of the weather!!! Don’t forget there will be FREE Midway ticket drawings at the POW WOW Tent every half hour from Noon to 2pm. You must be present to participate and win and at 8pm the Raffle Drawing for the Motorsport Family Fun Pack. You can still purchase raffle tickets by going to Pow Wow Tent you need not to be present to win. Head over to Mt Lake one last day to get your fun on and fill your bellies with delicious food!!!

Windom Fire Department was paged to an apartment with smoke coming out of the windows at 861 4th Ave on the 15th at 6:56pm. According to Fire Chief Ben Derickson they arrived on scene at 7:01pm with smoke coming out of four windows. The firemen made entry into the apartments. The first apartment had a smoke haze in it, and the second apartment firemen found some burnt food and deformed cookware on the stove and in the kitchen sink, with an apartment full of smoke. The fire crew checked the walls for heat and vented out the apartment and hallway of the smoke. Derickson went onto say they cleared the scene at 7:45pm and went back to the hall and restocked the trucks and were finished and back in service at 8pm. Assisting on scene were Windom Ambulance Department, Windom Police Department, Cottonwood County Sheriff Department and MN State Patrol. There were no injuries.

- The Cottonwood County Board of Appeal and Equalization will have its annual hearing also tonight starting at 6pm at the County Courthouse in Windom. Following an update on County statistics and changes in the valuation determination and assesment law there will be opportunity for members of the public to speak on behalf of their case for appeal of their valuations.
