Today’s soil temperatures at the 4 inch depth are:  51 degrees maximum and  44 minimum temperature.

Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office reported 49 calls in the week of April 21st to April 27th. Deputies conducted 4 Civil Processes, had 5 Animal Calls 2 Harassment Calls, 2 Theft Calls and conducted 8 Traffic Stops. As a reminder, coming up tomorrow, Wednesday May 1st is the monthly test of the Emergency Warning Siren System. The City of Windom has an outdoor warning system and it is tested the first Wednesday of each month. If you would like to learn more about this go to www.windommn.com

It’s a reminder that we hate to highlight…BUT remember the first half of real estate taxes are due Wednesday May 15th. Don’t forget to include your payment stub if you are mailing in. There are three ways to pay your taxes- In Person at the County Courthouse, by mailing in  to the address on your statement or you can do it online at www.co.cottonwood.mn.us    click departments, then click Auditor/Treasurer and then click on the Tax Statements & Online Payment

There will be a Firearms Safety Field Day for students who have completed the Hunter Course on-line program on Saturday May 4th at 10am in Marshall. Pre-registration is required there will be no walk-ins and there is limited class size. Students must be 11 years old before May 4th. A parent or guardian must attend the first 30 minutes of the Field Day. Students must bring Field Day Voucher and a copy of their birth certificate.
